From Butchering to Building a Movement
In 2020, a single Facebook post asking for help sparked a chain of events that God would use to birth a ministry centered on discipleship, restoration, and self-sufficiency. Courtney Bailey’s request for advice on sustainable living reconnected her family with Guy and Yvonne Keller, who generously offered their expertise in livestock butchering. What began as a practical lesson quickly grew into something far more meaningful: a Christ-centered community grounded in shared meals, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
As the Baileys and Kellers deepened their bond, they also began mentoring others—offering skill development in raising and processing animals while building a relational space for healing, hope, and discipleship. Over time, this informal outreach became a refuge for individuals facing real-life challenges: addiction, abuse, family trauma, and isolation.
In 2023, unaware of each other’s plans, both families felt the Holy Spirit calling them to deepen the spiritual aspect of their ministry. Guy and Yvonne launched a house church; while Courtney and Gabe began organizing a Bible study. Both couples included the same individuals to join their group— people previously served through their butchering ministry. Together, they joined in this new house church ministry.
In July 2024, both families gathered to reflect on their journey. Through prayer and discernment, they felt a clear calling to take the ministry to the next level—making it more intentional and impactful, capable of reaching more people in deeper ways. This unified ministry, now known as The Burrows at Sage’s Glenn, is rooted in obedience to God’s call, the redemptive power of Christ, and a belief that every life—regardless of its past—can be restored and equipped for Kingdom impact.
